Walk

Versione alternativa diAlternative version of «Cammino»

Still I walk and walk,
Wandering the old wide
And they say I be second, decried
Yet alone I now stride;

Still I walk and walk
Streets aplenty ‘low my feet
E’en if it be but a semblance fleet,
I halt not save as the lead hawk;

I walk and still I walk
If nights bring no illusions fair
‘Mongst a thousand embers there
I be the rugged, relentless rock;

And still I walk, evermore,
As this wine’s cup tastes of wood,
As they see I still walk for good
And halt at last, for the hour is o’er.
