Shall It Be I

Versione alternativa diAlternative version of «Sarò Io»

But shall it be I who wills it so,
Shall it be I who believes in change,
Believing I can bestow upon thee
A crimson throne of dreams aglow,
In another universe, oh, so strange;

Shall it be I who seeks to reveal
The self I ne’er have been,
The self I wish to make real;
Dust, perchance, ‘neath thy mien,
Thy gaze, thy faltering stride,
Now slow, now with sorrow allied.

Shall I be the cloud
Thou hast forever despised,
In shadow and shroud,
Perchance to be realized?
